at her in particular
but everyone
and everything
the little old lady he’d seen
as he walked to school
the dog that stared him down as he walked
past its yard
the lollipop man that
gave him a toothy grin
and his best friend
who had silently sworn
never to kiss her
but he broke that
and she broke that too
and now he was sitting in class
avoiding her and his eye
sad and with a broken heart
and lonely and betrayed and confused

“You have blue hair”
she exclaimed
“Wait, it’s red”
said someone beside him
“No, purple”
“Green”
“What are you talking about, it’s pink”
“It most definitely is not pink”
“Perhaps it’s burgundy”
“Lavender”
“Gamboge”
“What even is gamboge?”
the boy looks in the mirror
he is the only one that can
see it
and he turns to them and says
“It is not blue,
or red,
or purple or green,
or pink or burgundy or lavender
or gamboge
which is actually a colour

“Would you let me take you to Coffee?”
he asked her
“Sure”
she replied with a sultry smile
he took her hand and led her to
a small, secluded shop
one where the teenagers with blue hair
liked to hang
he chose a table away from
any prying eyes
or policeman
and she looked into his eyes
and he hers
and then he cut open her chest
with a smooth movement
and swallowed the heart
while it continued to beat
and her eyes never left his.

“Y/N. I have a request.” Alfie, your best friend, stood before you. You roll your eyes. “What would that be?” His blond eyebrows knitted together and he looked at you with concern. “I need you to pretend to be my girlfriend.” You laugh loudly. “How much will you pay me?”
“50 dollars an hour.”
“I was kidding, dude.”
He groans loudly. “Pleeease.” You stand up and nearly knock the wooden chair you were seated in over. “Why do you need that?” You ask. He makes a pathetic squeaking noise and pouts. “Promise you won’t laugh.” You sigh.

WARNINGS: terrible jokes, i'm so sorry
You laughed quietly to yourself as you remembered one of the many jokes you read last night. For you see, dear reader, who doesn't love a joke every now and then? Of course you had always strived for professionalism, but you simply couldn't help laughing to yourself about the hilarity. Truth be told the jokes weren't even that good, but you found them funny for some - probably really dumb - reason. Now, despite the fact that you were laughing rather quietly and you were almost certain that no one could hear you, one admittedly quite serious nation took notice of your quiet giggles.

Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah, they were all yellow.
You stood on the hill gazing up at stars, blissfully unaware of a presence beside you. The young Canadian man stood admiring you, and the way the billions of tiny yellow suns seemed to shine just for you. Though of course his own insecurities would prevent him from telling you so, no matter how much he wanted to. Fortunately for him, you seemed to understand the ever so vague ways he expressed his love for you.
Your skin,
Oh yeah your skin and bones,
